Frequently asked Questions (FAQs)

Can you explain why you have levels 0, 1, 3, 5?

Our SharpReading Levels were originaly taken from PAT Comprehension Tests and line up with the age related levels 1-9 in our testing procedure, Informal Prose Inventory test.

While it might be nice to have all the levels available it is EXTREMELY difficult to create those fine progressions when rewriting a piece of text, so I opted for every second level hence odd numbers only.

Level 0? I wanted to included a really basic variation of these texts as they are designed for struggling older readers who are still developing decoding fluency and need picture prompts. My solution was to call it Level 0.

What is the difference between a 1 User Licence and a School Licence?

We provide a low cost option for teachers who want to purchase their own resources and take them with them when they leave a school. A school licence means that anyone in the school can access the resources and use them while they are at that school.

How long do these licences last for? Do I have to renew?

These are one off life-time licences. There is no requirement to renew them.

What happens if I lose my downloaded files?

Contact us and we will provide new download links. We are currently upgrading our system and in the future (sometime 2025), once you purchase a product it will be stored under 'My Products' in SharpReading account and you can go there to download another copy. As long as you keep your SharpReading account open you can access them.
